I remember many times I could't understand and was too afraid to say so. So I kept smiling as if I had understood. "Do you understand?" is a question I definitely avoid asking my students and kids. What about you? When was the last time you struggled to understand something?
Coincidently, I was taking a writing course in 1994 or 1995, I guess, I´m not sure about the year. I remember listening to the teacher explaining the topic, but it sounded as if she was speaking Chinese to me. I couldn´t get it as much as I tried and I got to a point that I decided to quit. Eventually, I started the course again and I could finish it. The teacher was sweet, unforgettable. I´m glad I took the course again. It was worth it. I learned a lot back then.
oh yes,
